Simplified by Distance

Simplified by Distance

19″ x 23″, Oil and Graphite, 2009

All things, whether they are ideas or objects, become simpler via time or space. This painting represents the beauty that can be found in that simplification. The surprising aspect is that both time and distance work in two directions, so while at first glance the image here may appear as rolling hills or a distance mountain range, it can also be seen as waves of energy on the microscopic level swirling around a central axis. Are both the same? I think the similarities are difficult to ignore.
