Everything Surfaces

Everything Surfaces

Oil, 38″ x 46″, 2008

Beginning with two sections and the idea of equality that was also the base for ‘Two Sides’, I again attempted to balance the composition with adjustments on the edges. The difference here was the addition of boxes of value added and painted over with hopes of having a ghosting effect to the bands of color. Upon seeing what emerged from this process, an impression of inner-piping formed in my head resulting in the title and the belief that we cannot hide from experience because it will always come to the surface in some from or another.
